There is something I love about people. Its hard to explain and I worry that often in our dedicated narcissistic society it is off putting and considered creepy to honestly care about someone you may not really know.
And yet I find myself infinitely fascinated by even the most momentary passerby; wanting to know everything about them from their life history to the thoughts that are engaging them at that moment.
Why did they decide on what they are wearing, decided to buy, choice of words and self affiliation? There are so many questions that I wish I could have access to learn more.
And if they would let me, it would come from that genuine interest and love. The infinite complexity, depth and ability of every human if given the chance can be so captivating.
It can also be dangerous because of the society of narcissism it becomes easy to confuse interest of a person with sexual desire. It is a real testament to how disconnected we are from one another that we find it so easy to dismiss genuine interest with ulterior motives.
But we are missing so much, there is so much to gain from true connections with one another. Not in some hippie dippy way, but basic connections that are the foundation of our humanity. Take the time, there is so much to people when given the opportunity to get to know us.

I totally agree. Sometimes we really can't discover someone just by judging his appearance or the things he like. It takes more than the superficial facts to truly know a person. :)
