Rap is officially dead when the best that she can produce is Lil Wayne. I don't have any beef with Lil Wayne I will be happy when he is forgotten in 3 to 4 years. And I grew up Hip Hop so it is with no joy to put him on blast.
But bad is bad, Lil Wayne is horrible. He seems to want to prove everything Tipper Gore believes about Rap. That you can literally put any 2 words together add some bitch and ho's and you have a hit. So many of his songs make absolutely no sense, meandering from point to point with no purpose.
Biggies isn't rolling in his grave he is trying to rise from it so he can pop a cap in Lil Wayne's ridiculously untalented ass.
I don't like quoting lyrics because any without the context of a song especially a hip hop joint can be misleading. But really just pick any of Lil Wayne's and try to explain it.
To complete the downfall of Rap and prove that Nas was right and Hip Hop is Dead, Lil Wayne was just nominated for 8... 8 Grammys.
If you want to resurrect the Grammys you need to make sure he doesn't win even one.
There is no better proof of the results of unadulterated media consolidation and what happens when only 3 companies control nearly all the records released then the rise of Lil Wayne.
I mean you have to be a real punk to make it in today's Rap world. Lil Wayne is that spokesperson. You have to look a certain way; talk only about the hood, how great you are and getting with women with out any hint of irony at the blatant homo-eroticism of only appearing without a shirt on and dancing around with other men.
