"Its ways are ways of pleasantness, and all its paths are peace." This shabbat as Israel expands the killing in Gaza we can only pray that her leaders remember this prayer we say every sat. as we put away our communities' most precious possession, the Torah.
Israel is expanding its attacks and surely killing more innocent civilians.
As a Jewish state, as the chosen people we must live up to the Torah's higher standard. We were not chosen to get what we want. We were chosen as the people to live up to the very hard demands of the Torah.
No where is it more clear in the valuing of human life and working for justice.
That is why this action especially on Shabbat is so painful.
Please stop. For humans' sake and for our collective Jewish soul. It will not work, the deaths are needless it is time to dedicate to peace.
