Israel Must Stop Murder in Gaza

If Israel is still dedicated to being the Jewish state then it must live up to the higher moral standard that Judaism demands. It is not enough to say that rockets are being fired into Israel, yes there have been deaths and the fear many are feeling must be unbearable, but how could it be worth the lives of over 300 mostly innocent Palestinians? Is that just? If that is the cost for the Jewish state then G-d better come and destroy the Beit HaMikdash again because the cost to our collective Jewish soul is to high. Soon to be former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is right. via Washington Independent: ...Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert gave an interview in September to the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth urging Israel to negotiate a comprehensive peace with its neighbors or be consigned to endless war. The New York Review of Books translated it. Here are some key excerpts: I read the reports of our generals and I say, “how have they not learned a single thing?” Once, a very senior official told me, “They’re still living in the War of Independence and the Sinai Campaign.” With them it’s all about tanks, about controlling territories or controlled territories, holding this or that hill. But these things are worthless. And: What was Menachem Begin’s genius?… He started from the end.
