"News Quality Rating System"
I am not sure the Federal Communications Committee a partisan committee made up of 3 members from the president's party and 2 from the opposition party should be monitoring news and rating it. But I like the idea that viewers are made aware that there is a journalistic ethics quality and that the "news programs" should have to prove that they have lived up to those standards and practices. The fact that news programs don't even bother covering the news. That is to say that we don't get programs that discuss what happened, how it happened, where, who was involved. We just get a few talking heads who proclaim to know why something happened. There is no exploration of real possible whys. Why do we not have an electric car? Why do we allow poverty to persist? Why does it matter if we have deficit spending? Etc. etc. The questions that need to be asked aren't asked. And when they do ask people they print one side, then the other, no context, no exploration on if the assertions are true. In short journalism is in trouble, nice to see someone is trying to hold them accountable. Labels: Cease Spin, Corporate Media, Junk Media, Junk News, News Quality Rating System |
