Obama President
![]() I am still sitting with the reality that these United States of America has a Black head of state named Barack Hussein Obama. The celebrations were nearly as touching as the moment. The beautiful colors of the crowd at Grant Park, the people crying across America, and the sleepy eyes of the world's citizens up all night in anticipation of this amazing moment. "This is the fall of the Berlin Wall times ten," Rama Yade, France's black junior minister for human rights, told French radio. "America is rebecoming a New World.I sat with my mother who started to bawl when Rep. John Lewis started to cry talking about how much the moment meant to him. My mother started to talk about her days organizing and voter registration during the civil rights movement. Just like Rep. Lewis she had seen a lot, risked even more too overcome by the moment. Even with the time traveling back from Pennsylvania where I spent a few days on the ground getting out the vote for Obama and Democrats, I haven't been able to digest it enough to write about. How do you properly catalog the depth of this profound moment? President Obama seems to say it all. Some of the best Newspaper Headlines from the day after. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
