Troy Davis is going to be killed for a crime he didn't committ

No one really thinks Troy Davis is guilty of the murder he is being put to death for. As Amnesty has correctly pointed out at this point it is about finality rather than justice.

The case is simple 9 people said they saw him do it. 7 of those said that they were beaten by police to get those witness statements.

They also claim they know who did do it, one of the witnesses. The other witness a relative of the person who apparently did commit the murders.

This is serious the state is going to execute an innocent man on your and my behalf. Please call the number and ask for them to not kill innocent Troy Davis on your behalf.

Thanks to ColorOfChange.org for making me aware of this case.
In just over a week, Georgia may execute an innocent man. Can you make a call right now to the State Board of Pardons and Paroles to ask them to spare the life of Troy Anthony Davis?

Troy Davis was sentenced to death for...a murder he did not commit. There was no physical evidence against him and the weapon used in the crime was never found. The case against him consisted entirely of witness testimony that was full of inconsistencies. Since then, all but two of the state's non-police witnesses from the trial have recanted their testimony. Many have sworn in affidavits that police pressured or coerced them into testifying or signing statements.

Former FBI director William Sessions told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution: "Serious questions have been raised about Davis' guilt. It would be intolerable to execute an innocent man."
Yes former Republican Congressman William Sessions.
The State Board of Pardons and Paroles is meeting today to decide Troy Davis' fate. Can you call them right now and ask them to spare his life?

The number we included in the email is correct (404-651-6599), but it's unable to handle the number of calls we're making. If you keep calling back you'll eventually get through. You can try later in the day or alternatively you can try another number: 404-656-5712. and tell them you are for clemency or commutation for Troy Davis because you don't want Georgia to make the mistake of executing an innocent man.
