War on Greed
Thank you Robert Greenwald for taking on this project. We should be proud of the opportunity America has provided in the past, but what is going on in America now is wrong.
Past American societies and Presidents have understood that for the country to function we need to have an open market but one with fair laws. Just as it wouldn’t work for a sport to have NO RULES and then just let people run around, it doesn’t work for our economy.
Except for Carter, every US President in the past 50 years has worked to undo the sensible limitations that were created after the GREAT DEPRESSION in the 30’s. While I doubt we will fall head first into that level of depression the slow slog of failure is directly correlated to the undoing of sensible rules to guide our economy.
When a company makes $350 million in profit and the workers get NOTHING in return but wages cut and longer hours something is wrong. When the person who does nothing but buy the company, cut those wages, and make it LESS PRODUCTIVE, and gets $51,000 an hour while workers make $20 an hour for DOING THE ACTUAL WORK, something is horribly wrong.
This sort of insanity was regulated, it should be again. Support Brave New Films and fight the War on Greed.
