Extreme Makeover Home Edition

I love Extreme Makeover Home Edition. I think its one of the best shows on TV and every week it never fails to make me cry.

With so much TV even great shows that I love focused on exploring all the negatives aspects to the human condition its nice to have a reality show dedicated to the best in humanity.

Yes it is not a real solution to the country's problems. They don't address the underlining problems in our society and their solutions are with heavy corporate sponsorship. It can be uncomfortable how hard they push their sponsor's products.

But they are right out in the open, its pretty apparent what is going on, its not subtle advertising and it is not fraught with the same gender sexism, racism, anti-fat bias, and classism that most advertising prey's on.

They say we are building this house and these corporations wanted us to mention they gave us the means. Its obvious we are shilling for them. People are smart enough to get that.

In the process they help needy families and do change lives for the better.

I think most important they highlight the best parts of humanity. They don't do it themselves, they get communities involved. They pick families that have impact on their communities valuing selflessness as the ultimate value for community. I couldn't agree more.

And the community comes together to say we are going to help this needy worthy family.

Honestly if you aren't touched by Extreme Makeover Home Edition I have to wonder what is wrong with you, not the only positive show on TV.
