Dems Need to Deliver to the Black Community

Make no mistake, with all the talk in the media about the type of Democrats elected and how they should govern, it was Black voters that got them elected. When Democrats need votes they go into urban centers and implore Blacks and fellow poor to middle class voters to come out to the polls. And yet for years, as these Democratic leaders came to us for our votes, they have done nothing to help the African American community. WE ARE MORE THAN ONE ISSUE: AFFIRMATIVE ACTION We just want equal opportunity not hand outs. Education today is a system of resegregation not opportunity. Fund No Child Left Behind totally. I think it's good to have more accountability on teachers and schools, but it should be followed with lower class sizes and more teachers providing more opportunity for improving schools. Give tax breaks for College and restore Pell Grants. Help foster small businesses. Lesson the Cost of Health Care. And stop allowing Liquor Stores and big box shops to be the only stores in urban centers. Black people just want a chance to be equal citizens; and Democrats need to work to give us that chance.
