Ashcroft: Terrorism Coming soon, I say no kidding Now What are you doing about it

Recently John Ashcroft got on TV and said there will be a terrorist or at least the terrorist are trying to which I say:

“I told you so.”

Of course the NY Times then reported that there was no substantial new warnings to warrant the press conference probably just the administration covering its ass, but I have to say that there is no doubt in my mind it will happen around Election time if not sooner.

Of course they go on TV and say there is a threat, but do nothing to make us more secure.

There is NO security on any railways. I went to Greyhound and they were using a metal wand on everyone… BUT WHAT TERRORIST IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD ATTACK BLACK PEOPLE ON GREYHOUND… who the hell would care? I think it was to arrest more black people. But anyway I took the train NOTHING

There was an old police man standing on the platform, as if he is going to root out terrorist… What the fuck? On the metro, they have dogs I guess sometimes, but at the metro center… IF A BOMB GETS TO METRO CENTER ITS TO FUCKING LATE

They should have the dogs out at the suburbs where people commute in.

Either way I am confident in the Bush Administration’s ability to fail at homeland security and ironically I am equally confident in the stupidity of the nation to rise up in “support” of our President and reelect him.

So Predictions so I can get credit:

1. Ashcroft: “Terrorist Attack soon” to which I say duh.

2. Bush Win

3. We “find” Bin Laden in October right before election time

4. Iraq goes to shit… oh wait that is happening now

Are People Interesting?

This is kind of an old thought, but since I haven't posted again in like a week, I figure now is a good time to flush it out.

So I have always thought that people are easy to figure out, that first impressions really do tell a lot about a person. It is not that people are not complicated, its that you can tell a lot about a person from initial feelings. The interesting part is getting to know WHY a person is the way they are. What has led up to who they have become? Events, parents, friends how have they made the person?

For example, you can see someone and see their kindness or shallowness, their thoughts and fears all within in 30 seconds of meeting someone, but now why they are like that. What has made them afraid what has hampered their self-confidence. Because there is not a person in this world who is not afraid, who does not suffer from some sort of lack of self-confidence.

I am still the scared little boy sitting in the corner hoping not to get picked on or noticed... So I control the world around me and its perceptions of me. Always aware of how it views me. The person I portray is an indication of my mistrust for the world that harmed the young little boy, and the cowardice to step back out into that harshness. The part that gives my character dimensions is the narrative of my story.

I hate HATE HATE people who say "I am searching for the real me" or I am "trying to find myself" as if you could open your head and look in there is a person waiting to come out.

YOU ARE WHO YOU ARE AT THAT MOMENT, it is that simple. There is no real you, just who you are at that moment. Who you appear to be, how you allow yourself to be seen says a lot for who you are.

While you can try to grow, try to learn, try to be a better person, you are who you are at that moment. I could be a better Jordan, but the current incarnation is who I am. Ever changing, ever interacting with the world around me, I am still the person you see.

There is no deeper self to be found, just knowledge not yet discovered and worlds unyet touched by your presence. But while we grow and learn, we are who we are. And the person we allow to be seen says a lot for who we are.

Stop searching, start living.

Being Unemployed

When you are unemployed is it not that I feel sorry for myself. Quite the contrary, I know that most people who are unemployed are in much worse situations than me. I have people trying to find me jobs; a home and parents to fall back on; and frankly I wanted to leave my job so it is not that. No I feel paralyzed by the prolonged nothingness. I mean why fill the days, how? Reminds me of the movie About A Boy, And they ask Hugh Grant’s character how do you do nothing all day, and he says its quite easy you just try to fill your day by 15 minute increments.

I have not been as successful as him.

Truth is, I was bored when I had work and now bored that I do not. There is just a smoothness of meaninglessness in my life that has been punctuated by my employment being terminated.

Being unemployed I have lost the desire to do anything. I know what it is like to just want to stay on the couch, to not get up. I have more free time than I have ever had and do less than I ever have. I mean, Why? Why bother?

So here I sit, more than a week after my layoff and I this is my first entry. It only took three days to write it.
